Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026. This notice covers the Tabcase website, the email list, purchases and the Tabcase browser extension.
The extension
- What it stores, and where. Tabcase saves the titles, addresses, pinned state and tab-group names of your open tabs as snapshots and lists. They are stored in your browser's extension storage on your device and, with Pro, in a backup file in your Downloads folder. We never receive them. There is no account and no sync server.
- No analytics, no tracking. Besides your snapshots and lists, the extension stores only its settings, the install date (for the 30-day trial) and your license key, on your device.
- Permissions. "tabs" and "tabGroups" let it read the open tabs and groups to save and restore them; "storage" and "unlimitedStorage" hold your history; "alarms" schedule the automatic snapshots; "downloads" write the backup file; "sidePanel" shows the panel. Chrome describes "tabs" as "read your browsing history"; Tabcase does not read your history list.
- License check. If you activate a license, once a week the extension sends the license key to our license server (a Cloudflare Worker) to detect refunds. The key contains your email address and order number. Nothing else is sent.
What we collect on this site
- Email list: your email address, the tab manager you say you use today (optional), the language of the page, the site that referred you (if any), and the date and wording of the consent you gave.
- Anonymous counts: page visits (Cloudflare Web Analytics) and clicks on the install and purchase buttons (at most one per browser session), per day. No cookies, no IP address, no device fingerprinting.
- Purchases: handled entirely by our merchant of record (payment provider). We receive your email and order details from them, never your card data. We store your email, order number and license key to deliver the license and, if configured, email the key to you (via our email provider).
Why
To email you the install link and major releases, to deliver and check your license, and to measure interest. The legal basis is your consent (email list) and the contract with you (purchases), and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Where it is stored and for how long
Email list and license data are stored by Cloudflare, Inc., including on servers in the United States. We keep email-list data until 12 months after launch, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. License records are kept while the license is valid and for as long as tax and consumer law require. Your snapshots and lists never leave your device.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your data. Infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, our email tool and our payment provider) process it only on our behalf.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or to stop receiving emails, at any time: contact@your-domain.com. Every email has an unsubscribe link. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
